Roel trained at the International College of Musical Theatre in London.

 

Born and raised in the Netherlands, he moved abroad in 2008 to pursue his musical career.

 

Roel has been a singer and actor in shows at the Disney parks in Paris and Tokyo, at the Universal Studios parks in Osaka, Singapore and Beijing and for Galaxy Hotel in Macau.

He’s travelled the world whilst performing on cruise ships, as a production singer for Norwegian Cruise Line, on the Norwegian Sun, for Phoenix Reisen, on the MS Amadea and for 2Entertain, on the M/S Color Fantasy. 

He was a part of the cast of the Greenwich Theatre London’s Christmas pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, he’s toured Germany and Austria in the shows Best of Musical Starnights and he played George, Cinderella’s father, in Music Hall’s Cinderella (in Antwerp and Ghent).

In 2024 he will be on tour in Germany with the show Die Nacht der Musicals.

 

Fun fact: Roel represented the Netherlands at the very first Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in 2003, broadcasted live throughout Europe, with his song Mijn Ogen Zeggen Alles, which he wrote himself.
